g320 are delighted to announce that Sapphire Independent Housing Chief Executive Officer, Heather Thomas, has been co-opted to the g320 Executive Committee. Heather brings a wealth of experience of the housing sector, with over 20 years working at a senior and board level. As well as being CEO for Sapphire Independent Housing, she is also chair of Croydon Churches Housing Association.
“Affordable housing has a hugely important role to play in creating a safer and fairer society, as we have seen from the pandemic and within this smaller housing associations have a significant role to play as well because of our local and specialist nature.” said Heather.
“In a sector where the voices of larger providers can dominate, it is important that the role of smaller providers is also heard. I would therefore welcome the opportunity to work with colleagues to champion the important work of the g320.”
Karen Cooper, g320 chair, said “Heather has been a keen and supportive g320 member during her time at Sapphire Independent Housing. She has been keen to collaborate with others and we look forward to benefiting from her insights and experience to ensure that small housing associations can continue to play their part in ending the housing crisis and punching above their weight in London”.
Heather joins our current Executive Committee members Karen Cooper (chair), Susan French (Vice Chair), Jonathan Card (Treasurer), Denise Fowler, Fiona Humphrey, Sue Daniels and Linda Wallace. Heather will now look to be formally appointed to the Executive Committee at g320’s AGM later this year.
